It’s no longer just cake by the ocean now…it’s cake with Kygo by the ocean!

For fans of Joe Jonas’ other trio…DNCE is back! With lead singer Joe Jonas, guitarist, JinJoo Lee and drummer Jack Lawless reuniting after a nearly four-year long hiatus.

DNCE’s Success Before Hiatus

Before the group took their pause from playing together so Joe could focus on reuniting the Jonas Brothers, DNCE reached commercial success in the short time from when they began in 2015 to when they disbanded in 2018. The dance-rockers won awards at the MTV Video Music Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards and Teen Choice Awards. They also reached success on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts with “Cake By The Ocean,” reaching the ninth spot. Other popular songs include “Toothbrush” and “Kissing Strangers” featuring Nicki Minaj.

DNCE decided they were ready to revive that momentum, and they posted teaser photos on their Instagram account of a cloudy, blue sky with their name written, presumably a new logo. This amped fans up for the dance-rock band’s comeback. Before this, DNCE hadn’t posted to their account since 2018.

After the warmup post that revved up fans, making them antsy for more information, the band then posted a photo with Kygo, announcing that they were collaborating with him for their comeback single “Dancing Feet.”

DNCE and Kygo Collaborate on “Dancing Feet” Single

Norwegian DJ and producer, Kygo, rose to fame with his 2014 single “Firestone” featuring Conrad Sewell, and his second single in 2015 with “Stole The Show” featuring Parson James. Kygo found his way with remixing classics, including Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love,” Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff” and Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It.” Now, he is adding to the charge for the trio’s new single.

Kygo was equally excited to announce the partnership and posted photos on his Instagram account of music video rehearsals for “Dancing Feet,” with Kygo and Jonas hitting different poses.

Jonas posted similar photos on his Instagram account, and even gave fans a slight teaser video of him dancing with Kygo, while Kygo busted out dance moves to “the sprinkler,” while the caption read: “Prepare yourself for the dance battles to end all dance battles.”

The few moments of the song that played during their dance battle reveal the same upbeat, positive fast-moving songs that fans came to expect from DNCE – the same music force they heard on the band’s self-titled debut album in 2016.

This isn’t the first time DNCE and Kygo shared musical fusion, though. Back in 2017, DNCE’s Instagram account shows the two musical entities on stage together for a packed crowd – potential foreshadowing for what was to come years later.

Fans Rejoice For The DNCE Reunion

Even just pictures of floating clouds with the band name on DNCE’s Instagram account riled the fans up. One fan wrote “THEY ARE BACK BABY!!!!!!!!” while another fan wrote, “READY FOR DNCE WORLD DOMINATION.” MTV even joined in on the congratulatory action and wrote, “WE SURVIVED THE DNCE DROUGHT” on the post. Another facet of the music industry, Republic Records which represents the group wrote, “we. are. so. excited.”

Though it hasn’t been revealed when the music video will release, fans can pre-save “Dancing Feet” for Spotify, or pre-add the song using Apple Music by going to dancingfeet.live
